This Autumn we will be offering the "Fall Overlooks Tours"! This tour includes visits to various overlooks with spectacular views of the valleys and mountains! There is not as much walking involved as the other tours since there is multiple locations and more driving time. For more information call 870-743-5996 or email onandoffthebeatenpath@yahoo.com
Hawksbill Crag Tour
Hawksbill Crag is one of the most photographed locations in AR. It is featured on the Cover of the 2005 Rand McNally road atlas. This is a 3 mile hike that most anyone can take. There are a few very nice waterfalls along the way that can be enjoyed in the rainy seasons. The view from the point is breathtaking. Gazing far up the Whitaker Creek valley to the right, then toward the hidden Buffalo River on the left, this is one of the region's most stunning scenes. Pedestal Rocks Tour This is two trails in one tour. The Pedestal Rocks trail is 2.2 miles and the Kings Bluff trail is 1.7 miles. The trail is steep in a few places but is considered an easy hike. We will come out on top of Kings Bluff where a waterfall plunges from the flat top of the bluff line. This tour offers great views from the bluffs as well as fascinating rock formations that can be explored from the top as well as the bottom which is pocketed with tunnels and overhangs. For more information call 870-743-5996 or email onandoffthebeatenpath@yahoo.com Full Pedestal Rocks Tour Sam’s Throne Tour There are many options from a half mile hike to the main overlook point on the bluff to the complete 3 mile circle along the bluff line and to the top of the Throne and back. Either way you go, you will see phenomenal panoramic views! In the 1820’s, a man named Sam Davis would climb to the top of the throne and preach powerful sermons to the people below in the valley, so it is now called Sam’s Throne. Since then it has become one of the best know rock climbing locations in the USA! For more information call 870-743-5996 or email onandoffthebeatenpath@yahoo.com Full Sam's Throne tour
half mile to lookout is included in the overlooks tour.
Buzzard Roost Tour
Buzzard Roost Rainbow Arch
This is one of the most interesting places in Arkansas! The odd patterns and crevices in the Cap Stone Bluff look strangely like a large brain. Not the prettiest description, I know, but it is a beautiful area, beautiful views from the top, and riddled with pockets and tunnels to explore around the base. There is also an 87 ft long arch nearby. This is an easy hike to the Roost and then gets a little more challenging when going to the arch. This is a 4 mile hike round trip. This tour is also included in the Natural Bridge Tour. For more information call 870-743-5996 or email onandoffthebeatenpath@yahoo.com Buzzard Roost
Natural Bridge Tour
This tour starts at the Alum Cove Natural Bridge area. The natural bridge here was used by settlers when the creeks were flooded. It is large enough for a horse drawn carriage to easily pass over it. During the rainy season there is a small waterfall that flows beside the bridge. The trail wraps around across the creek and next to a nice bluffline that has other forming arches and cliff shelters. Next the tour will take you to the Big Arch at Buzzard Roost. This arch is locally called “Rainbow Arch” and has a span of 87ft. Tea Table Bluffs
Magestic blufflines with an awesome view of Home Valley and the surrounding mountains, interesting rock formation called "Tea Table Rocks", and several nice waterfalls along the bottom. This tour has so much to offer. Round trip is approx. 4 miles to see both the bluffline and the waterfalls. The bluffline trail is an easy hike 1.8 miles.
